Giovanni Carnevali has revealed new details about the split between Juventus and Dušan Vlahović and, for the first time, explained very clearly what happened behind closed doors before the Bianconeri decided to close that chapter.
According to him, Juventus wanted to continue working with the Serbian striker and there was a concrete and financially very significant offer of a new contract on the table. Vlahović, however, decided not to accept it.
Carnevali's words come only a few days after Dušan Vlahović spoke in detail about his split with Juventus for the first time in a big interview and revealed that much of what had been written about his new contract over the years was not true.
JUVENTUS WANTED TO KEEP VLAHOVIĆ
Speaking to "Radio Anch'io Sport", Carnevali explained that the Vlahović situation was already live when he arrived at Juventus. The club tried to find a solution and offered the Serbia international a new contract.
"When I arrived, he had already been made a very important financial offer. He decided not to accept it," Carnevali explained.
This statement practically confirms that the split did not come without a prior attempt by Juventus to keep their striker.
THE REJECTION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
The key moment came when Vlahović decided not to accept the terms offered.
Carnevali made it clear that Juventus did not want to enter into a long negotiating battle after that.
"I am not the type who runs after a player. For us the story ended there," the Juventus executive said.
That sentence best describes the change of policy in Turin – the club made its offer, and after not receiving a positive answer, it decided to go a different way.

Despite the failed negotiations, Carnevali had no bad words for Vlahović.
On the contrary, he stressed that the Serbian striker behaved correctly towards Juventus throughout the situation. He thereby practically dismissed the possibility that the split was the result of an open conflict between the player and the club. The two sides simply did not find common ground on continuing their partnership, after which Juventus decided not to insist on new negotiations.
IT IS NOW CLEARER WHY JUVENTUS DREW A LINE
For months there was speculation about Vlahović's future, his salary and the possibility of him continuing his career in Turin under different financial terms. Carnevali's statement now gives a much clearer picture. Juventus did try to keep Vlahović and put a serious offer in front of him. The Serbian striker decided to reject it, and the new management did not want to turn the negotiations into a months-long saga. After everything that went on around one of the most expensive strikers in Juventus history, it seems that this very moment was the definitive turning point.
The offer was on the table, Vlahović said "no", and Juventus decided to turn a new page.
