Jonathan David’s strong performances at Atletico Madrid could bring Juventus a significant financial boost. According to information reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, if the Canadian striker continues at this pace, the Madrid club could decide to keep him permanently.
The loan agreement reportedly includes a €20 million purchase option, and activating it could bring Juventus a significant capital gain.
THE FINANCIAL CALCULATION ALSO WORKS IN JUVENTUS’ FAVOR
The financial side of the entire operation is particularly interesting. According to TMW’s calculations, when David joined Juventus, the club incurred around €12 million in costs related to his signing, which are amortized over four years.
By next June, approximately €4.8 million will have been amortized, leaving him with a book value of around €7.2 million.
If Atletico were to activate the purchase option worth approximately €20 million, Juventus could therefore record a significant capital gain.
DAVID’S SALARY IS ALSO IMPORTANT
However, that would not be the only financial benefit for the Bianconeri.
According to the same source, David earns around €6 million per year, while he would still have three years remaining on his Juventus contract after the end of this season. His permanent departure would therefore mean not only transfer income for the Turin club, but also significant relief on the wage bill for the coming seasons.
EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON HIS PERFORMANCES IN MADRID
For now, Atletico have made no definitive decision regarding the purchase, so much will depend on David’s performances during the remainder of the season.
If he continues to perform well and convinces the Madrid club to keep him, Juventus could secure a very favorable financial outcome from his departure.
After failing to find the right consistency in Turin, David could therefore become a deal that brings millions to Juventus.
