JUVENTUS AND TOTTENHAM REACH AGREEMENT – SARR HEADING TO TURIN
Pape Matar Sarr is set to become a Juventus player! Fabrizio Romano has delivered his famous "Here we go", confirming that the Bianconeri and Tottenham have reached an agreement over the transfer of the Senegalese midfielder.
After several days of intense negotiations the two sides have found common ground, and the overall operation could be worth around €30 million.
TWO MILLION UP FRONT – THE OPTION COULD BECOME AN OBLIGATION
According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus will pay Tottenham €2 million for the loan, while the contract will include a buy clause.
The option can turn into an obligation to buy depending on Juventus' results in Serie A over the course of the season.
This is the final formula that satisfied both sides, after Tottenham had previously insisted that the deal include a mechanism capable of guaranteeing a permanent transfer. Earlier reports had already indicated that the buy-out formula was the key sticking point in the negotiations.
SARR WANTED JUVENTUS – PERSONAL TERMS WERE NEVER AN ISSUE
The player's wish was an important factor in the final stage of the talks. Sarr had previously agreed personal terms with Juventus and wanted the move to Turin.
Even Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi publicly confirmed that the Senegal international had asked to leave the London club.
Juventus have thus landed the midfield reinforcement they were looking for after the failed attempt to sign Franck Kessié.
