Jonathan David does not want to leave Juventus after just one season. Despite inconsistent performances over the past year, the Canadian striker believes he can fight for another chance and stay in Turin next season. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the final decision will not depend on him alone.
Spalletti wants a different type of striker
As reported by Football Italia, Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti continues to push for a striker with different characteristics. The club are still working on bringing back Randal Kolo Muani, while young Jeff Ekhator has already arrived from Genoa this summer. That is precisely why David's place in the squad is not secure.
According to the same source, Spalletti prefers a more physically dominant centre-forward, which further complicates David's fight for a place in the team.
The Canadian international refuses to give up
Although interest from other clubs has not yet materialised, Jonathan David has no intention of looking for a new home. His desire is to stay at Juventus and prove during pre-season that he deserves the coaching staff's trust.
David believes he needs more time to adapt, just as was the case in earlier stages of his career in Belgium and France, where he hit his best form only after his first season.

At this point, Juventus have not made a final decision. The possible arrival of a new striker, as well as the progress of the Kolo Muani negotiations, could significantly affect David's future in Turin.
