Randal Kolo Muani spoke ahead of Juventus’ Europa League match against Rennes about the reaction following the defeat to Lazio, his conversation with the captain, and the support of Luciano Spalletti. The French striker wants a third European victory, but also hopes to return to the national team through good performances in the black-and-white shirt.
“We immediately have an opportunity to show what we’re worth”
Kolo Muani believes the upcoming match comes at the right time, as Juventus have the opportunity to leave a difficult weekend behind them and respond on the pitch.
“We had a difficult match over the weekend, but it’s good that we immediately have another opportunity to put it behind us, look ahead, and show what we are capable of on the pitch. Tomorrow, we will have to give everything we have in order to play a good match.”
Conversation with Bremer: “Like in a family, sometimes there are problems”
The Frenchman reflected on the conversation in the dressing room after the last match. He pointed out that the captain’s address led to a constructive discussion and that the team must move forward.
“After the last match, the captain spoke to the team. It was a positive conversation. Just like in a family, sometimes there are problems, but we have to move forward.”
“I don’t think we lack character”
The Juventus striker rejected the suggestion that the team lacks character. He pointed to the process of integrating new players, including himself.
“I don’t think we lack character. There are new players, like me, and we are working to integrate as quickly as possible.”
Spalletti’s trust as a source of motivation
Kolo Muani emphasized how much the coach’s advice and support mean to him. However, he is aware that the work done in training must be backed up in matches.
“Spalletti has always given me a lot of advice, and his trust is important. He encourages us to push our own limits. In training, we work on implementing his ideas, and then it is up to us to show how much we are worth on the pitch.”
With Woltemade for a third European victory
When asked about playing alongside Nick Woltemade, the French striker left the team selection to the coach and highlighted his good relationship with his teammates.
“Playing alongside Woltemade? The coach chooses the team, and I get along well with all my teammates. Against Rennes, we want our third victory in the Europa League, even though we know it won’t be easy.”
“I want to return to the national team through Juventus”
Alongside his team goals, Kolo Muani also has a clear personal ambition: to earn another call-up to the national team through his performances for Juventus.
“On a personal level, I hope that, thanks to my performances for Juventus, I will earn another call-up to the national team.”
