What we announced on Juventus OFC Serbia back on August 28 has now received official confirmation – Mateja Lacmanović is the new Juventus player! The young Serbian defender has arrived from Red Star Belgrade and has signed a contract with the Bianconeri until June 30, 2029. Juventus confirmed that the 17-year-old centre-back will begin his career in Turin with the youth sector, namely the Juventus U20 team coached by Simone Padoin.

On August 28, we published a story on our website titled
“JUVENTUS TO SIGN RED STAR GEM: LACMANOVIĆ HEADING TO TURIN”
When the transfer was still awaiting official confirmation from Juventus.
At the time, we reported that Juventus had agreed to sign the young Red Star centre-back, as well as that the transfer, including bonuses, could bring the Belgrade club almost €1 million.
At that point, the Bianconeri’s immediate development plan for the player was also not yet known. Now there is no longer any doubt – Lacmanović is officially a Bianconero.
JUVENTUS CONFIRMS CONTRACT UNTIL 2029
In their presentation of the new player, Juventus particularly highlighted that Lacmanović is a Serbian central defender born in July 2009, a product of Red Star’s youth academy and a player who is already part of Serbia’s youth national teams.
His first step will not be Luciano Spalletti’s first team, but rather work with the U20 side under the guidance of Simone Padoin. For a player who is only 17 years old, Turin now represents the beginning of a completely new chapter.
WHAT DOES LACMANOVIĆ BRING TO JUVENTUS?
Lacmanović primarily plays as a central defender, while a particularly interesting aspect of his profile is the fact that he is left-footed. In our August report, we specifically highlighted this detail as one of the characteristics that attracted attention.
According to the available profile and player analysis, he is a physically very well-developed centre-back for his age, standing around 1.93 metres tall, with his strengths including aerial ability, reading the game and progressing the ball.
Of course, at his age we are primarily talking about potential rather than a finished product. He still has to adapt to Italian football, work on his speed and defensive duels, and gain experience at a higher level. FROM RED STAR TO JUVENTUS AT 17
Lacmanović came through the Red Star youth system, and in April he signed his first professional contract with the Belgrade club. Juventus moved very early and decided to continue his development in Turin.
For now, the most important thing will be for the young Serbian defender to establish himself and gain consistency in Padoin’s team.
Only after that will it be possible to speak more seriously about his next steps and a potential move closer to senior football. One thing, however, is now official – Mateja Lacmanović is a Juventus player.
