Arthur Melo’s time at Juventus appears to be coming to an end after six years.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus and the Brazilian midfielder are working towards a mutual termination of his contract, which currently runs until 30 June 2027.
Arthur joined Juventus from Barcelona in 2020 in a deal valued at around €80 million, with Miralem Pjanić moving in the opposite direction. However, the Brazilian never managed to establish himself as a key player in Turin.
After his first two seasons with Juventus, Arthur spent four consecutive campaigns away on loan, representing Liverpool, Fiorentina, Girona and Grêmio.
Rather than arranging another temporary move, Juventus are now looking for a definitive solution. If an agreement is reached, Arthur would become a free agent, while Juventus would remove the final year of his contract from their wage bill.
The agreement has not yet been officially announced, but negotiations are underway and the two sides are moving towards ending their relationship.
After six years, Arthur’s Juventus chapter could finally be about to close.
