Juventus play their final warm-up match tonight before the start of the 2026/27 season.
At the Allianz Stadium from 18:00, the Juventus first team take on the Juventus Next Gen side in a traditional club fixture that gives fans a chance to see the present and the future of the Bianconeri on the same pitch. Juventus have officially confirmed this will be the first team's final test before the league season begins.
Who exactly are Juventus Next Gen?
Juventus Next Gen is not a classic youth team.
It is Juventus' development side, competing against professional senior clubs in Serie C, the third tier of Italian football. The idea behind the project is for Juventus' best young players to gain senior football experience before potentially making the next step towards the first team.
Last season the team achieved a historic result. They finished the regular Serie C campaign in fifth place, the best finish for the Next Gen side since its founding. They then played the play-offs, where they were eliminated by Pianese in the second round.
Brambilla leads the young Bianconeri
Preparations began in mid-July at Juventus' training centre in Vinovo, and the young Bianconeri will compete in Serie C Group A this season. The squad features a large number of young players Juventus are developing for the next level, including Lorenzo Anghelè, Filippo Pagnucco, Jonas Rouhi, Anghelè, Pagnucco, Licina, Cerri, Faticanti.
This summer they were joined by Ismael Konaté, an Italian striker born in 2006 who signed a contract with Juventus until 2029. Last season he played for Empoli and Lecco, scoring four goals in 19 matches for the latter.
