Juventus is closely monitoring the development of Adin Licina, one of the most interesting young players owned by the Bianconeri. The 19-year-old made an excellent start to his adventure at Cremonese, and according to Tuttosport, there is already a clear plan for his future in Turin. Next summer, Juventus will decide whether Licina will go out on another loan, potentially to a Serie A club, or whether the time has come for him to permanently join Luciano Spalletti's first team.
In the meantime, he suffered an unfortunate setback. In a friendly match against Juventus, he injured his left wrist and subsequently had to undergo surgery. The procedure was successfully carried out at J|Medical.
JUVENTUS DID NOT LET HIM LEAVE BY CHANCE – LICINA IS PART OF THE PLAN
Licina's move to Cremonese did not mean that Juventus had given up on him. Quite the opposite. The idea was for the 19-year-old to get what he needs most at this stage of his development – regular playing time, senior football and greater responsibility on the pitch.
That is why he went out on loan, while Juventus retained control over his future. In Turin, they want to see how he develops throughout the entire season before making a final decision. Tuttosport reports that the summer of 2027 should be the key moment.
CARNEVALI IS FOLLOWING HIM CLOSELY – SPALLETTI ALREADY KNOWS HIM WELL
It is particularly important that Licina's progress has not gone unnoticed by the people making the most important decisions at Juventus. According to Tuttosport, Giovanni Carnevali is following his development with great interest, as the club believes that Licina still has plenty of untapped potential. Spalletti also knows him well, as the young player has already had the opportunity to work with the first team. Therefore, next summer Juventus will not have to evaluate a player they are seeing for the first time – but rather a footballer whose development they have been following from close range.
TWO OPTIONS FOR THE SUMMER: SERIE A OR SPALLETTI'S FIRST TEAM
At the moment, there are two main scenarios. If Juventus decide that Licina needs another season of regular senior football, the next step could be a loan move to a Serie A club.
The other possibility is much more exciting for Bianconeri fans. If he continues to develop and proves that he is ready for the highest level, Juventus will consider permanently bringing him into Spalletti's first team. In other words, this season for Licina is not just another loan spell – it represents a sort of audition for Juventus.
EXCELLENT START: TWO GOALS AND TWO ASSISTS
And Licina has started answering in the best possible way – on the pitch. According to the latest figures reported by the Italian media, the young attacking player has scored two goals and provided two assists in his first five appearances. It is not just about the numbers. His technique, ability in one-on-one situations and capacity to create the final action have attracted attention, while Juventus also highlighted his good performances at the start of the season on their official website. Licina is doing exactly what he was sent out on loan to do – playing, developing and making a difference.
HE SHONE AGAINST JUVENTUS
A particularly interesting situation occurred when Cremonese travelled to Continassa for a friendly match against Juventus. Licina played against the club he belongs to – and made an excellent impression. It was his move that led to the only goal of the match. Licina provided the assist for Federico Bonazzoli, who scored to give Cremonese a 1-0 victory. It was another signal to the people at Juventus that they should closely follow what their 19-year-old footballer is doing on loan. But the same match also brought him an unfortunate setback.
CONFIRMED: LICINA UNDERWENT LEFT WRIST SURGERY AT J|MEDICAL
Licina injured his left wrist during the match against Juventus, and subsequent examinations showed that surgical intervention was required. Cremonese then officially announced:
“Adin Licina underwent a reduction procedure for a fracture of his left wrist.”
The operation was performed at J|Medical, in agreement with Juventus and Cremonese, and the club confirmed that the procedure was successful. After an initial period of rest, his condition will be reassessed. The injury has interrupted his excellent moment, but for now there is no reason to believe it will change Juventus' long-term plans for him.
JUVENTUS MAY ALREADY HAVE A FUTURE REINFORCEMENT IN LICINA
Licina is only 19 years old, yet he is already showing that he can make a difference in senior football. Two goals and two assists in his first five appearances, good performances, an assist against Juventus and growing confidence – his start to the loan spell could hardly have been more interesting. Now the most important thing is for him to fully recover from the surgery and continue where he left off. Juventus will monitor him throughout the season, and then make a decision – another loan in Serie A or Spalletti's first team?
If Licina continues on this path, the answer could become increasingly simple. Juventus may not need to look for another young reinforcement on the market – they may already have one, only he is currently wearing the Cremonese shirt.
